Hospital Accreditation using the Chinese International Hospital Accreditation (CIHA) framework was resumed in HA hospitals since 2024 and United Christian Hospital (UCH) underwent the accreditation process in 2025 to uphold hospital and patient safety standards. Two rounds of consultancy visits and on-site survey were conducted in March, June and October 2025 respectively. As nursing staff representing the largest staff group at the hospital, early engagement and mutual support is utmost important to make it succeed. Nursing Services Division (NSD) took up the leading role in coordinating accreditation criteria related to clinical units and nursing practices. They were responsible for formulating the departmental guidelines and presentations. To strengthen their understanding of CIHA requirements, each of them completed a 4-week attachment to QSO. 2.Central Information Hub Senior Nursing Officers and NSD Advanced Practice Nurses were assigned into four groups to appraise each criterion under Clinical 1-4 Groups. Central Information Hub was setup to consolidate corporate and hospital guidelines and protocols with clear categorization. Result & Outcome :
302 nurses participated in four sessions of nurses’ forum in 3Q 2025. 33 ward visits were conducted since December 2024, engaging 312 frontline staff. Clinical staff expressed appreciation for the supportive atmosphere and constructive suggestions were discussed. The on-site survey at UCH was successfully conducted on 20-24 October 2025. With joint efforts by clinical units and NSD, a strong sense of mutual support and collaboration was fostered. This collective commitment has contributed to sustain high standard of care.
