Introduction :
The Department of Medicine & Geriatrics (M&G) at KWH is committed to continuously improving quality and ensuring patient safety. To achieve this, the department has established an easy-to-read, easy-to-navigate electronic manual on nursing practices for frontline staff. This e-manual serves as a comprehensive electronic database covering various nursing practices, such as "Blood Products Transfusion," "Patient Fall," "Patient Suicide," and "Handling of Dangerous Drugs" and so on. Resource including guidelines, workflows, forms, audit reports, training materials and records would be compiled in the form of hyperlinks on an A4-sized bulletin-like e-manual. As a first step, an e-manual on the topic of "Blood Products Transfusion" has been developed. Blood products transfusions offer life-saving therapeutic benefits, but with inherent risks as well. The goal of this e-manual is to provide frontline staff with clear and accessible resources, ensuring safe and effective transfusion practices.
Objectives :
To formulate an easy-to-read, easy-to-navigate electronic database for frontline staff, ensuring consistency and accessibility of resources
To establish a centralized platform for department to retrieve training records of clinical staff
Methodology :

In Jan 2026, refined workflows and forms were endorsed in department meeting. A video titled “Blood Products Taking from Blood Bank” was produced for training. An updated version of e-manual was released.
Result & Outcome :
By Jan 2026, effectiveness of the e-manual was evaluated and positive feedbacks from focused staff (Clinical managers and frontline nurses) were received indicating its success, and the consistency and accessibility of resources. Continuing efforts to maintain and update the manual will be essential for its sustained effectiveness.
